Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The JS Direct Team / John Richards (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us or purchase one of our digital products.
Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use our website and services, we may receive information such as your name, email address, purchase details, correspondence you send to us, and technical information generated when you use the website.
When you purchase a product through Payhip, information required to process and fulfil your order may also be handled by Payhip and its payment providers.
We do not directly collect or store your full debit or credit card details.
How We Use Your Information
We may use your personal information to process and fulfil purchases, provide access to digital products, respond to questions or support requests, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, improve our website and services, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
Where you have specifically agreed to receive marketing communications, we may also contact you about relevant products, services or updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
Our Lawful Basis
Depending on the circumstances, we process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, because we have a legal obligation, because you have given your consent, or because we have a legitimate business interest that does not override your rights and interests.
Payments and Third-Party Services
Purchases may be processed through third-party services such as Payhip and the payment provider selected during checkout.
These services process information according to their own privacy policies and security procedures.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share information with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our website, deliver products, process transactions, provide communications or comply with the law.
Some service providers may process personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, appropriate data-protection safeguards should apply as required by applicable law.
Cookies
Our website and services we use may use cookies or similar technologies for essential website functions and, where applicable, analytics or other functionality.
Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies, these should only be used after you have provided the appropriate consent.
How Long We Keep Information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing products and support and meeting applicable legal, tax, accounting and record-keeping requirements.
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access to your information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion in certain circumstances, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also have the right to data portability in certain circumstances.
To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details below.
Marketing Communications
If you have subscribed to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in our emails or by contacting us.
Purchasing a product does not automatically mean you have consented to receive unrelated marketing emails.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. However, no method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data-protection regulator.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services or legal requirements. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date.

That is much more appropriate for your business than the generic “go and buy a privacy policy from GDPR My Site” advert that's currently sitting there. 😂
One thing we should check separately: cookies. The ICO says visitors need to be told about cookies, and non-essential cookies generally require consent. ICO So having the privacy page alone doesn't necessarily sort the cookie side.
Also, this is a practical draft based on current ICO guidance, not legal advice. The exact wording should reflect what your site actually collects and which services you actually use.
Send me the Terms & Conditions screen next, and we'll replace that old template as well.
